so i finally got my d300. i supported the fine folks at the local camera shop by buying the body there, and then saved some bucks getting a kickass lens off amazon and a filter, too. what got me really excited about the d300 after i'd already decided to purchase it was that the raw images have great colors and contrast, straight out of the camera - especially reds and greens - so it totally pulled at my fuji-film heartstrings. this photo here is raw out of the camera and i'm pretty impressed with tone of the grass, despite the mole hills. the last photo has a teeny tiny bit of photoshop done to the ground to liven it up a bit.
